George Eustice, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle, has backed plans to expand the Cornwall Animal Hospital in Redruth.
Speaking after a visit to the centre with Tommy Bray, who has been a longstanding supporter and fundraiser for the animal hospital, George Eustice said that the charity provided much needed support to help people on lower incomes with their veterinary needs.
George Eustice said, “The Cornwall Animal Ambulance and Hospital now has around 10,500 customers and typically have about 40 dogs a day coming through the small centre at Treleigh. They have some important plans for expansion which I fully support.
“For many people, particularly older people living on their own, their pets provide really important companionship and the work of charities like the Cornwall Animal Hospital is an important life line.”
The Cornwall Animal Hospital offer highly competitive rates for veterinary services to help raise funds from the public but also subsidised rates for those who cannot afford their veterinary costs. They also have a network of charity shops in the area to raise the funds to allow them to run the centre.
