 | Conservatives would abolish housing targets |
 |
George Eustice, the Conservative PPC for Camborne and Redruth told a packed meeting in Camborne, organised by the Trelawney Alliance, what steps a future Conservative government would take to abolish the unpopular housing targets forced on the area by the Regional Spatial Strategy.
Speaking at the meeting, George Eustice said, "Decisions on housing need should be taken locally so a future Conservative government would abolish regional planning bodies and the crackpot housing targets that go with them. We would also give Cornwall Council the right to revisit their local area plan and change those policies that had been forced on them from above.
"This government have been telling people what to do for 12 years and its time things changed."
